Description | Part of the Rails-to-Trails conversion, the portion of the railway between Pickens and Easley, SC became operational in 1898. Local residents nicknamed the railroad the Pickens Doodle line, because the freight engine could not be turned around and had to run backwards, looking like a doodlebug. Sleepy little southern towns with great pastoral views. Country settings and old homes line the trail. Lots of renovations and additions to be added at a later date. |
