DescriptionFurman Universitys walk is on its 750 acre campus with miles of walking paths through its almost 200 year old campus. It has a beautiful lake with graceful swans swimming peacefully while people of all ages and athletic abilities stroll around it. A replica of the cabin that Henry David Thoreau lived in while writing his masterpiece, Walden, is by the lake. The campus also has an amphitheater that hosts music performances and movies for students and locals alike. You will enjoy the beautiful landscaping, the Buddhist temple above the Asia garden, the rose garden, reflection ponds and several breathtaking fountains. And, you will also experience a part of the Swamp Rabbit Trail which connects the beautiful town of Travelers Rest with Greenville . Dont miss this treasure of the South! Start point driving directionsFrom Asheville, NC take I-26 toward Asheville Airport/Henderson/Spartanburg. Merge onto US-25 S via Exit 54 toward US 176/Greenville/NC 225 crossing into South Carolina. Turn slight right onto N. Pointsett HWY/US-25-CONN?US-276-CONN. Turn right onto S. Main ST/US-276/Greer HWY. Destination is on the right. From Charlotte, NC take I-85 towards Gastonia crossing into South Carolina. Take the I-385 exit, Exit 51 toward Greenville/Columbia. Merge onto I-385 N via Exit 51C toward Downtown/Greenville. Merge onto N Pleasantburg Dr/SC-291 N via Exit 40A. Turn Left onto N.Pleasantburg Dr. N. Pleasantburg Dr. becomes State Park Rd/SC-253. Turn Right onto Pointsett HWY/US-25-brN/US-276 W. Continue to follow US-276 W. Destination on the Left. From Atlanta, GA take I-85 N via Exit 251 toward GA-400/Greenville (crossing into South Carolina. Merge onto I-185 N/US-29 N via Exit 42 toward Greenville. Take the US-25 N exit, Exit 15, toward Travelers Rest. Turn left onto White Horse Rd/US-25 N. Continue to follow US-25 N. Merge onto US-276 W via the ramp on the left. Destination on the left. From Columbia take US-76 W/I-26. Merge onto I-385 N via Exit 51 on the left towards Laurens/Greenville. Merge onto N. Pleasantburg Dr/SC-291 N. via Exit 40A. Turn left onto N Pleasantburg Dr. N. Pleasantburg becomes State Rd SC-253. Turn Right onto Poinsett Hwy/US-25-BR N/US-276 W. Continue to follow US-276 W. Destination is on the left

CommentsStart Point is a short drive from the Forest Coffeehouse, approx.3.5 miles. Start at the Green Caboose at the intersection of the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Duncan Chapel Rd, Greenville, SC. Just past the entrance to Furman Athletic fields.
